The Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) have ended a daylong stakeholders meeting with farmers in Lofa County.
Speaking to Radio Kintoma News on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, Lofa County agriculture coordinator Abas Biaty disclosed that the delegation from the Food and Agriculture Organization is currently working with the Ministry of Agriculture on many development programs.
He said the stakeholder’s engagements focused on current challenges faced by local farmers across the county and how the FAO can focus her attention in supporting the agricultural sector.
Local farmers attending the stakeholders’ engagement outlined several challenges confronting them in the county.
They named limited farm-to-market roads, lack of improved seedings, the lack of farming implements, and the lack of storage facilities as some of the major challenges facing them as farmers in the county.
“The partnership with FAO seeks to support the government’s ARREST Agenda with emphasis on the agricultural sector,” Mr. Biaty concluded.
